Vicente Tatay Tomás 3/4

The Vicente Tatay Tomás 3/4 is a classical guitar designed for younger beginners, students with smaller hands and players who find a full-size instrument uncomfortable.

Its 580 mm scale length reduces the distance between the frets, making first-position playing, stretches and chord shapes easier to manage.

The solid cedar top provides a warm and responsive tonal character, while the laminated sapele back and sides contribute balance, stability and durability. Decorative binding and a gloss finish give the instrument an attractive, traditional presentation.

This special 125th-anniversary edition combines the heritage of the Vicente Tatay name with practical construction suitable for lessons, regular practice and the early years of music-school study.

THE VICENTE TATAY TRADITION

Vicente Tatay Alabau came from a family of cabinetmakers in Ruzafa, Valencia. After developing an interest in guitar construction, he founded Vicente Tatay Tomás and opened a workshop in Valencia in 1899.

His children gradually joined the business, which became Vicente Tatay é Hijos in 1932. The family workshop produced accessible guitars using traditional methods and later modernised its production while maintaining its connection to Valencia’s guitar-making tradition.
