Andreas Madimenos 2023 Cedar Lattice Concert Guitar
ALEN’S ASSESSMENT
This 2023 concert guitar features a cedar soundboard with an all-wood lattice-bracing system. Unlike lattice designs that use carbon fibre or balsa, this construction relies entirely on wood to create a warm, resonant voice with rich and substantial notes.
The ovangkol back and sides support clarity and projection, while the 650 mm scale provides a familiar professional setup. Handmade Pagos tuning machines and a shellac finish complete the instrument.
Recommended for advanced players, conservatory students and professional guitarists seeking strong projection, warm tonal depth and the quick response of a modern all-wood lattice guitar.
THE LUTHIER
Andreas Madimenos was born in Athens in 1984 and began studying music at the age of seven. Alongside his formal music education, he completed bachelor’s and master’s degrees in finance at the Athens University of Economics and Business.
His interest in woodworking and guitars led him to the workshop of Greek luthier Pavlos Gypas in 2014. Madimenos now builds guitars from his own designs, combining patented structural concepts with modern materials and techniques.
His instruments are made in Greece and are characterized by precise construction, distinctive visual details, comfortable playability and a modern, powerful concert sound.
