Kolya Panhuyzen 2025 Cedar Lattice Concert Guitar
ALEN’S ASSESSMENT
This 2025 concert guitar combines a cedar lattice-braced soundboard with Indian rosewood back and sides. The lattice construction provides immediate response and strong concert projection while retaining the warmth and tonal colour associated with cedar.
An African ebony fingerboard, Spanish cedar neck and Barnett tuning machines complete this refined professional instrument.
Recommended for advanced players, conservatory students and professional guitarists seeking quick response, powerful projection and a warm contemporary concert voice.
THE LUTHIER
Kolya Panhuyzen was born in Berlin in 1941 and built his first guitar in 1967 in the workshop of his uncle, Edgar Mönch.
He established his own workshop in Toronto in 1974 and opened a second workshop in Germany in 1992. His long international career is reflected in the precise craftsmanship and refined aesthetics of his instruments.
Panhuyzen guitars have been played by internationally active musicians including Laura Young, Carlo Domeniconi, Rafaella Smith and Matt Palmer.
