From his workshop in Lecco, Italian master luthier Mirko Migliorini builds guitars that unite tradition and modernity in a single elegant form. His instruments embody the clarity and balance of modern design while preserving the warmth and poetry of the classical guitar’s historic soul.
Each Migliorini guitar offers effortless playability and immediate response. The sound is balanced across all registers — with clear trebles, full basses, and an exceptional capacity for dynamic range. Modern in projection and ease of sound emission, yet traditional in its intimate, expressive voice, every note reveals a refined blend of clarity, warmth, and depth.
Mirko’s building philosophy combines classical Spanish techniques — traditional fan bracing and a Spanish-style neck joint — with modern materials and acoustical science. His double-top soundboard, reinforced with Nomex, enhances flexibility, reduces weight, and provides remarkable responsiveness. This creates a guitar that sings with both subtlety and power, offering instant feedback to the performer’s touch.
A passionate researcher, Mirko integrates craftsmanship with science. In addition to the intuitive tapping and shaping of wood, he uses modal analysis and frequency response measurements to ensure every instrument meets his precise acoustic standards. The result is consistency in tone and structure — instruments that breathe with life, yet remain reliable under the most demanding performance conditions.
A graduate of the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano (2002), Mirko has restored and studied historic masterpieces by Torres, Hauser, Bouchet, Fleta, Guadagnini, Panormo, and Romanillos. His deep knowledge of historical models informs his craftsmanship, allowing him to shape guitars that carry the soul of the great masters into the present.
His excellence has been recognized internationally: in 2001, he won Third Prize at the 5th International Guitar Making Competition of Baveno, and in 2021, he received the prestigious “Golden Guitar” Award at the 26th International Guitar Conference of Milan — an honor shared by only a few of the world’s leading luthiers.
