Wolfgang Jellinghaus Signature Double-Top Concert Guitar (2026)
ALEN’S ASSESSMENT
The Signature Double-Top is a modern concert guitar with a lightweight spruce/spruce double-top soundboard, granadillo back and sides, and a floating fingerboard.
Because the fingerboard is not attached directly to the upper section of the soundboard, more of the top can vibrate freely. Combined with the lightweight double-top construction, this gives the instrument immediate response, strong projection and a powerful concert presence.
The familiar 650 mm scale and 52 mm nut width provide a professional classical-guitar setup, while Der Jung tuning machines and a shellac finish complete the instrument.
Recommended for advanced players, conservatory students and professional guitarists seeking fast response, modern projection and a powerful double-top concert voice.

THE MAKER
Wolfgang Jellinghaus was born in Dortmund, Germany, in 1951 and grew up in a family connected with guitar making. His Signature model represents his modern approach to concert-guitar construction.
The design combines a lightweight double-top soundboard with a floating fingerboard, allowing the upper section of the soundboard to vibrate more freely. The Signature series is produced in a small workshop in China using Jellinghaus’s design and selected materials.
